Switch information LIVE! Chelsea FC newest with Hudson-Odoi set to depart, Skriniar to Tottenham, Aouar to Arsenal

Welcome to the Evening Standard’s live coverage of the latest news and rumours from the transfer window.

Time is running out for Premier League sides to make changes to their squad for the 2020-21 season. Clubs have until October 5 to sign players from Europe, though deals with EFL clubs can continue until October 16.

So far, Chelsea have put the rest to shame with eight new additions while Tottenham have made a statement of intent of their own in re-signing Gareth Bale – with Sergio Reguilon also arriving from Real Madrid – while striker Carlos Vinicius has joined from Benfica on an initial loan deal .

Champions Liverpool have bolstered in the form of Thiago Alcantara and Diogo Jota – but it remains quiet for Manchester United as their pursuit of Jadon Sancho was put under added pressure following a tough Champions League group-stage draw.

Arsenal have also been busy, and are targeting Lyon captain Houssem Aouar and Thomas Partey in what could be a dramatic finish to the transfer window.

Live Updates

Dembele ready to join Manchester United

Ousmane Dembele wasn’t keen on joining Manchester United a few days ago, but L’Equipe reports that the France international has had a change of heart.

Manchester United have been forced to look at options beyond Jadon Sancho with the club’s bargaining tactics having appeared to have failed miserably.

Barcelona are yet to sanction a move, but Standard Sport understands they would be willing to let Dembele leave, either on loan or in a permanent deal.

Real Madrid rival Arsenal for Aouar

According to L’Equipe, Real Madrid have launched their bid for Houssem Aouar, a team the Lyon midfielder would prefer to join over Arsenal.

In fact, there are a few clubs Aouar would prefer to join over Arsenal and Juventus, another interested party, is also in the frame.

The report adds: “Arsenal, who have been after Aouar for several weeks, appear to be the default option & have not offered the money required to close the deal.”

One more to go for Spurs?

Tottenham will refocus their attentions on Milan Skriniar before the transfer window shuts on Monday.

Spurs finally signed the back-up striker they wanted by bringing in Carlos Vinicius from Benfica – initially on loan – and will now move for Jose Mourinho’s No1 defensive target.

Spurs and Inter Milan are said to be some way off with their valuation, but with Tottenham maintaining other options also, they could yet strike a deal with the Serie A side.

Hudson-Odoi to leave Chelsea?

Bayern Munich and Chelsea are said to be in talks over a loan deal that would take Callum Hudson-Odoi to the Bundesliga.

Hudson-Odoi faces a battle to get into the Chelsea XI with the arrivals of Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner and Christian Pulisic’s return to fitness.

And Sport Bild reports that talks are under way between Bayern and Chelsea over a loan deal.

Bayern tried to sign the England international back in 2019.

And Standard Sport understands that Chelsea would be open to allowing the 19-year-old to leave.

PSG ‘dreaming’ of Aouar

I’ll repeat what I wrote earlier: this is really hotting up.

The race for Houssem Aouar has seen Real Madrid enter the frame tonight and now Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo has had his say: “Right now it is a bit complicated, he is interesting a lot of clubs.”

“He is a dream for us.”

Looks like Arsenal have a fight on their hands.

Barca will not send Dembele out on loan

Barcelona will not allow winger Ousmane Dembele to leave the club on loan this season, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Dembele has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United, but they will reportedly need to secure a permanent deal if he is to move to Old Trafford.

The winger was left out of Ronald Koeman’s squad for their 3-0 league win over Celta Vigo.

ICYMI: Lampard open to Hudson-Odoi loan

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has revealed he is open to Callum Hudson-Odoi leaving on loan before Monday’s deadline.

The winger, who is yet to feature in the Premier League this season, has been linked once more to Bayern Munich.

Lampard has now confirmed he would consider letting him, Fikayo Tomori and Ruben Loftus-Cheek leave on loan.

Lampard said: “With every player in the squad, if it is a situation of a loan you have to consider what is best for the player, what is best for the club first and foremost, and then see how it stacks up.

“With all those three players I will always take those things into consideration. I have not got an answer on any of those three.

“I have a good relationship with them all and speak honestly with them. That is one we will broach player by player over the next few days.”

Solskjaer wants James sale to fund Sancho bid

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to sell Daniel James to fund a move for Jadon Sancho, according to ESPN.

The report claims Solskjaer remains desperate to sign Sancho by Monday’s deadline and believes a £25million sale of James could help the club reach Dortmund’s £108m valuation.

ESPN report Solskjaer is yet to convince the United board of the idea to sell James.

Atletico reach Torreira agreement

Atletico Madrid have reached an agreement with Arsenal over the loan signing of Lucas Torreira, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The deal is reportedly for a one-year loan with no obligation to buy, with personal terms agreed and a medical scheduled.

Romano reports only once Atletico sell a player will the deal go through, however, with negotiations underway for both Hector Herrera and Thomas Lemar.

West Ham eye Dawson

West Ham are interested in signing Watford centre-back Craig Dawson, according to the Daily Mail.

The Hammers failed with multiple bids for Burnley’s James Tarkowski, now turning their attention towards Dawson.

The 30-year-old made 29 Premier League appearances last season, but is yet to feature outside the Carabao Cup this season.

Man Utd set Telles deadline… OF TOMORROW

Manchester United must wrap up a deal for Alex Telles by tomorrow if they are to sign the full-back, according to Jason Burt of The Telegraph.

Standard Sport understands United are working on a deal for Telles with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer desperate to bring in a couple of signings.

United and Porto are still reportedly some way apart on the transfer fee, however, with the window of opportunity closing as Telles flies to Brazil for international duty on Sunday.

Dalot ‘really close’ to AC Milan move

Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot is “really close” to a AC Milan loan move, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

Dalot played just once following the restart last season but started in United’s 3-0 win over Brighton the Carabao Cup.

The full-back, who joined from Porto for £19million in 2018, looks set to leave the club, however.

Milan had also been interested in Tottenham’s Serge Aurier, but it looks as if he will now stay put.

Spurs reject PSG’s second Alli bid

Tottenham have rejected Paris Saint-Germain’s second loan bid for Dele Alli, according to Sky Sports.

The French champions are reportedly stepping up their approach for the midfielder with Monday’s deadline looming.

However, Sky Sports report Spurs insist the midfielder will not leave and expect him to fight for a place in the team.

Spurs complete Vinicius deal

That didn’t take long! Tottenham have announced the signing of Carlos Vinicius on a season-long loan deal!

Vinicius, 25, will cost Spurs just £2.7million in loan fees, and they have the option to make the move permanent for £38.2million next summer.

The forward proved ruthless up top for Benfica last season, scoring 18 goals in 32 league games, while also providing eight assists.

Spurs’ Vinicius announcement seemingly imminent

Tottenham have hinted at the imminent announcement of Carlos Vinicius with a brilliant social media post.

The north London club has posted a video in which they hilariously attempt to type out “We are delighted to announce the signing of a new striker”, only to be bombarded with suggestions of a midfielder or the Skywalk.

With Benfica yesterday reporting Spurs had agreed a deal to sign Carlos Vinicius on a season-long loan deal, the official announcement is surely to drop any minute now.

Spurs signings come to an end?

Tottenham are not expected to make any more signings this summer after Carlos Vinicius’ arrival, according to Paul Gilmour of Sky Sports.

Speaking on Sky’s ‘The Transfer Show’, Kaveh Solhekol said: “My colleague Paul Gilmour is telling me that Tottenham are not expected to make any more signings in this window after the arrival of Carlos Vinicius.

“Talks over Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar have not developed into a formal bid.

“The two clubs are well apart in the valuation and the priority at the moment for Spurs is to offload players. There will be no panic if they do not get a centre-back in.”

West Ham make £20m Caleta-Car bid

West Ham have made a £20million bid for Marseille defender Duje Caleta-Car, according to Sky Sports.

The centre-back is now a prime target for David Moyes after West Ham had three bids for James Tarkowski turned down.

Caleta-Car, 24, has scored two goals in five league games this season.

Palace step up Benrahma interest

Crystal Palace have stepped up their interest in Said Benrahma, according to Sky Sports.

The foward put in a stunning performance, scoring a screamer as Brentford reached the Carabao Cup with a 3-0 win over Fulham yesterday.

And having been heavily linked with a move to Palace in recent weeks, Sky now report the Eagles are stepping up their pursuit.

Hudson-Odoi to Bayern talks in ‘decisive phase’

Callum Hudson-Odoi’s talks with Bayern Munich are now entering a “decisive phase”, according to Christian Falk of Bild.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard earlier today insisted he was open for the winger to move out on loan this season.

Hudson-Odoi has been heavily linked with a move to the European and German champions, with talk now significantly heating up.

This is certainly one to keep your eyes on…

Man Utd complete double signing

Manchester United have completed the signings of both Alejandro Garnacho from Atletico Madrid and Charlie McNeill from Manchester City.

Standard Sport understands both players will play with their U18 side to begin with.
